The atmospheric quality in this piece was achieved by layers of transparent color. The verigated composite gold leaf added texture and color from the back of the surface. This piece was a compilation of images with a dash of my imagination.
Fire can be destructive, or it can be beneficial. It can burn away the dead things, and leave only purified gold.
It makes me so sad that these amazing creatures could vanish. I was able to stand within feet of this cheetah. I could hear her purr, lick her trainers arm, and run from 0 to 60 mph in a matter of yards!
Dura Lar is a semi transparent substrate that allows me to work on the front and back of the surface. For Forgotten Chambers I applied layers of pencil on both sides, and when I was finished with the back, I applied composite gold leaf. I love the layers of life each chamber represents!
