Although I love to draw, I also love dimension. My work incorporates both of these through the use of different surfaces and 3-dimensional constructions as surfaces.
3-Dimensional constructions came about as I was thinking about what boundaries I face working in colored pencil. This crosses over from framed wall art, to viewing the subject from a 360 degree perspective.
Colored Pencil is a transparent medium, so when I place many layers of color on a surface with texture and pattern, magical things happen.
Using Dura Lar , which is semi transparent, with colored pencil which is also transparent, results in another kind of image.
Formed surfaces allow me to add dimension of a different sort.
